The inspiration for AI Lite development came from Dr W Slany founder Pocket Code app based on his association and experience with “No One Left Behind” project of EU.
"AI Lite" is a play on words from "AI Literacy", as it will serve the vision of democratizing AI driven Robotics for education to students globally.
This, in essence, translates to providing one AI Robot per child at an affordable price.
We realized that Smartphones represent the single fastest area of technological progress which we are going to experience for the foreseeable future. New phones are being launched continuously with enormous computational power capabilities and faster connectivity.
With over 3.5 billion people having smartphones, the penetration even in underdeveloped countries is on the rise. What’s more is that Smartphone ownership is growing rapidly around the world. In advanced and emerging economies alike, younger people are much more digitally connected having access to smartphones. Further in most homes, there are quite a few phones lying unutilized. Also we discovered that most schools globally have ready access to smart phones or tabs.
Realizing this, we designed and built a smartphone powered AI robot at a very reasonable price point.
